bullitt wheel clearance ?

ok I'm buying 17" bullitt wheels for my 88LX. I did all 03 cobra brakes all the way around. I want to keep my qaud shocks on, but will a 17x10.5 fit in the back? I heard that you could get by this by turning the qaud shock around,... ??? If not I'll just buy 4 17x9's.

I have the sn95 axles and I am still hesitant on doing it as I do not have a lot of money to start over. I have heard of people doing it but I also run sportlines on all 4 corners and I would probably have to roll the lip in a little.

I believe he is talking aftermarket like on ebay. They come in 18's as well. Mine are factory and are 17x8 off a 2002 GT.

I got ya, I didnt realize we were talking about Generic Wheels! I thought the Bullitt Name belonged to Ford, so some Doo-Napper Company just couldnt throw something together and call them "Bullitt" Wheels.

Bullit is actually just a knockoff of american racing torque thrust wheels
I would have to disagree. I used to think that but a friend of mine has a set of torque thrusts and there are many differences between the 2. Atleast I thought so. I like the bullitts better

Does ANYBODY have an answer to the original question here because I want to do the same thing to the notchback I plan to build soon. I want 315s or 335s if I can fit them. I'm building a turbo'd 331 so I WILL need them. I did a search for mini tubs but it seems like sombody on here did it without mini tubbing.

The widest you are SUPPOSED to put in the rears of your mustang are 275. I can pretty much guarantee 315s wont fit. I couldnt fit 315s on a 2001 Camaro at my work, and you can fit wider tires on those than mustangs. Like i said before, 315s are meant for corvettes and in some cases cobras

I know they won't just bolt right up. I'm trying to find out exactly what I have to do to get them to fit....with the least amount of modification. What I'm trying to find out is can I get away with it safely without mini tubbing. Anybody who knows anything about fox body mustangs knows that the widest tire that will fit on them is a 275. I had 2 fox bodies and an SN95(94 GT). They fit right on the 94.

10.5" wheels will not fit wit the quads on the car flipped or not.. and everyone is right you need to use the longer axles and roll the fender lips.. but even then a 10.5" wheels are a very tight fit.. i have never been able to just "bolt on" 10.5" wheels in the back of a fox..

as for what everyone has said.. they are all right.. 275/40/17 is the biggest on a stock fox.. and even then there is rub most of the time..
