i have a 1999 stang v6 and i have a couple of questions

1. I have heard that you cannot use an oem cobra or gt bumper on a v6 stang because mounting points are different. Is this true?

2. Does anyone one know the stock location for a foglamp switch on a 99

3. i just bought a 03 cobra rear bumper for my v6. Are there any adjustments i am going to have to make to my rear end to make it fit? (other than getting rid of the stupid single tip factory exhaust)

I can't answer any of your questions, but I was just curious... are you making a fake V6 Cobra?

no im not trying to be something im not. I work at a dealer and someone came in with a dent in there cobra bumper and they wanted a new bumper.
I repaired the old one and am going to put it on my car. I did it cuz it was a really cheap way to dress up my car

I may end up putting a full cobra kit on my car though. I know that some people think that it is a bad idea to do make my car something its not. But im just trying to make the best of what i have. Im not going to tell people its a cobra.

I am not sure about your questions on the bumper....
But the stock location for the fog light switch is on the center console behind the cup holders. There should be two slotted plastic pieces, which I believe are suppose to coin holders (I never used them though) that are inserted there from the factory if the switches are not needed. One is the spot for the fog light switch, the other is for the convertible top. The locations changed in the 01 stangs.

The bumpers are interchangable. THey have the same mounting points on the V6 and all other models.

The switch is in the console. Or better yet, the wiring harness, you have to supply the switch for the fogs.

Oh and post these types of tech in the V6 forum and you will get all the needed responses!
