Im about to drop my car a total of 2 1/2" in the front and 2" in the back, im also changing my shocks/struts, installing x2 ball joints and probally shorter end links to compensate for the drop but I was wondering if I could change the offset bushings instead of the out of budget steeda bumpsteer and get the same result. Iv read that the bumpsteer restores the steering geometry by lowering the tie-rod ends slightly relative to the spindle wheres the offset rack bushings raise the steering rack. Do they both serve the same purpose? because id rather save the money and change the bushings if itll do the same thing as the bmpsteer at a fraction of the cost.

Pretty much, but the bump steer kit does a better job. I've got both and the only one that made a difference was the bumpsteer kit. May as well do it right the first time so you won't have to backtrack and get better stuff later, like I had to.

so how much of a differance is there once you install the bumpsteer, i have the pro-kit right now and i dont have any problems with bump steer that i can tell but with the sportlines that im putting on this weekend im looking at 1/2" lower in the back and 1" in the front from the 1 1/2 i have from the pro-kit, will it do any dammage if i take a long trip without doing the bumpsteer yet cause i wont have the time or the money before i leave

I don't really know how much difference there was specifically from the kit, since I did it with the X2 balljoints. There won't be any damage, it's pretty much just for steering improvement. Just make sure you get it realigned before the trip.
