OK I have a bt of a probblem and was hoping someone could help me out. About 2 years ago A purchased a 68 mustang from California (Im in Texas). I had it deliverd and when it got here I was amazed at how many problems it had so about 2 years after I bought it I decided to sell it. I found a guy that has the time and money to fix her up...... everything seemed good until I couldnt find the title to the car. I looked everywhere for it and couldnt find it. I came to find out that my roomate had "accidentaly" cleaned up and might have thrown away a bunch of old papers . Bieng as how the car wasnt really drivable I never got it inspected, registered, or insured. I dont have the number to the guy that sold it to me and (ok I know this was REALLY dumb on my part) I hadnt transferd it over to my name yet. Waht can I do? (Im sorry but I didnt know where else on the forum to put this) Thanks for the help

If the car did come from California, you may be in luck. The California DMV retains computer records for 7 years, so it's still on the books, so to speak. Try to contact the DMV ( you can get a phone number off their website) and talk to a person. Tell them what happened and that you need a copy of the title. It may take a little work and patience on your part, but it's not that big of a deal.

Also, if they need a representative on your part, I'll be glad to go down there for you. You can also "give" it to me, I'll get the title saying you'd lost it the title and that I'm gonna pick up the car, and then "give" it back to you. You'd have a copy of the title, and all information needed to sell it. I'll PM you my phone number.
