"Hundreds of transactions and thousands, upon thousands spent over the nearly 15yrs in this hobby and they were the ABSOLUTE worst to deal with by far!"

EXACTLY, BEEN THE 5.0 GAME SINCE 1992 AND I CAN SEE WHY SOME COMPANIES FAIL, IM AMAZED THEY HAVENT "YET"........ITS AMAZING THE LARGEST BESIDES JEGS IS SUMMIT AND THEY ARE THE NICEST PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH, NO ATTITUIDE AND WILL ALWAYS GO THE EXTRA MILE TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT, YET- CJ PONY PARTS IS A PIMPLE ON SUMMITS ARSEEEEEEEE AND THEY ARE DIFFICULT, NASTY AND HAVE BAD ATTITUDES. IF I DIDNT SEE IT LIVE AND IN PERSON @ THE SWAP MEET, I WOULDNT BELIEVE IT....... IT JUST MAKES ME REGRET MY CHOICE IN CHOOSING THEM.

I had a fairly large order of 10 or 15 items that was over $1,000 I called to place the order at CJ and had a few tech type questions on which clutch I should order.

Their customer service reps were totally clueless. They are nothing more than order takers. If you do not know EXACTLY what you want and the corresponding part number you are screwed. I was not impressed at all but since they are a local company I went ahead with the order.

Half the stuff arrived within a few days, the rest took almost 3 weeks ( They are only 2 hours away!!!) The stuff that took the longest (spark plugs) I could have gotten at the local AutoZone.

The icing on the cake was the steel TOB bearing retainer. I tried to install it on my tranny and it simply would not fit. So I called CJ to get their advice. Spoke to thier tech guy Bill who was insistant that it had to fit and I must not be installing right. I politlely re-iterated that it didn't fit. All of a sudden Bill got an attitude and implied that I did not know what I was doing. I sensed that it was going nowhere so I said "Ok, what ever you think" and hung up.

Now I will admit that I do not know much about Mustangs but I have worked on Camaros for many years and know my way around the toolbox.

So I had a friend with alot of Mustang experience look at it who quickly pointed out that I had a 4 cyl T-5 and that is why the retainer would not fit. Why , Bill, their supposed 'ace' tech never thought of that I will never know. His only answer was that I didn't know what I was doing.

I'll never deal with them again.

Summit with their price matching rules. I have found their tech people knowledgable and their shipping is incredible. Pretty much anything that I have ordered from them has arrived second day.
For the Mustang specfic stuff that Summit doesn't carry, I use Late Model Resto. Never had a problem with them.
I have also bought a few small things from Mustangs Unlimited and not had any problems but they are generally pricier than Late Model Resto.

I've never ordered from CJ's before. I took one look at that shotty catalog and thought no thanks! The catalog is even a mess compared to the Summit, LMR, or Brothers Performance. By the way, I ordered my Twisted Wedges from Summit. I live in Detroit and they are located in Central Ohio. They were shipped UPS Ground and I received them next day! I was very impressed.

50 Resto has always done me right, so I don't bother with anyone else. But, I'll keep that in mind.

My old garage was LINED with Summit stickers, haha. Always the right part, always shipped before I expected it, always easy to order. I've been through MU and LMR, and haven't had any problems there, either.

i dealt with LMR today, i was impressed with their sales rep he was knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. cj pony parts and mustangs unlimited, no way. when i worked at MU i used to listen in on some of the convos the reps would have with customers and it would disgust me. no respect.

LMR and Summit ftw, ive never dealt with JEG's, but it took them 5 weeks to send my friend a set of BFG's so im weary.

**** JEGS, they tried to bone me over when i bought my AFR's from them. They wouldnt honor the warranty "2 days before the warranty ended". They wanted me to send the heads back to AFR for inspection which would taken longer the warranty's expriation.. I was like WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought it from you ($1325.00) because of the warranty-Just in case, Now your doshonoring the warranty. after about 2 days of arguing and fighting and talking to AFR, They honored the warranty, which was covered to begin with. Thanks to AFR stepping up and calling them on my behalf. So JEGS can BLOW ME as well. I only deal with Summit for all major parts. JEGS and CJ ****ED UP PARTS, You have been dismissed..........

I only bought from them once, but will remember the attitude I got when I had a question before I placed the order. The guy literally sighed in my ear and quickly proceeded to rush me off the phone while taking the order. He was literally like "ok what else" in a very snippy tone. I don't think he even said "bye" when he hung up. I won't order from them again.

If you were so ticked off right away and knew it wouldn't get there correctly, why didn't you cancel the order? I mean you might be overacting a little.
Btw what part was it in the cooling system that only FR makes? None of the other suppliers or even a local Ford dealer have this part?

Did you make a rant about JEGS when they failed to meet your expectations? Might be a good read given the price of the heads.

Hate to be the pizza guy and be late or bring the wrong food....

LOL I'm with ya, I ordered 1 part from cj just to feel them out and they blew it, when I was doing my motor I gave them something simple so they wouldn't hold me up, an intake plaque and they took 2 weeks to get it to me on an in stock item. The rest of my stuff came from LRS and summit/jegs all of wich came w/o issue. I have never had any issues save for only 1 with lrs the sent my 93 cobra wheels and 1 had a small mark on it, they gave me a choice of replacement or $50 gift card. I took the gift card since the mark wasn't horrible. I just placed an order with summit and LRS so that stuff should be coming soon, great people to do business with.

CJ is just unprofessional, right down to thier crappy hard to read catologs and website to the lousy customer service..they get a big .

Im only 45 minutes away from CJPP so I ordered a set of 93 cobra wheels from them. As we all know there is a left and right to the wheels. Well I got 3 of 1 and 1 of the other. Well it wasnt untill I got home and had some tires mounted that we realized what was wrong. CJ's was going to make me buy a 5th wheel because a tire was mounted but the wheel was never mounted. I drove back to the store and it wasn't untill I caused a huge seen and threatened to throw the frickin wheel through the front window of the store that the manager finally came out to the floor. In the end they finally got me the wheel I needed but I had to wait another week to get it. I wont be spending my money there again.

I bought some items when I was there, dew wipes, hinge pins. I was surprised at the fact they didn't have console parts, stripe kits. They had to be ordered.

But what I did buy was good stuff and I had no problems with it.

I think this is one of the greatest threads ever. There isn't enough bashing that goes on around here. You know bashing of crappy parts we've bought, crappy shops who have worked on our stangs, and crappy parts suppliers. We will never collectively agree on everything, but putting the word out about people and places that are not supporting our hobby with positive results is great.

You can't look at this thread like an all out bash on CJ's. You also have to look at it as a thread that people talked about all the positive experiences they have had with other suppliers. It just gives fellow stangers a heads up on who's had good experiences with certain places, and who's had bad one's. Ultimately everyone can decide for themselves who to do business with, but its nice to hear some advice and different ideas about it along the way. If you've got to cuss and swear along the way then ****-it! Swearing is one of my favorite things to do.

Just my two cents...

No wait, I think that was at least 3 cents.
