Hey all, there is a guy selling an svt for 1,500 not far from me. He said that he had the head gaskets replaced about 10,000 miles ago at a Subaru dealership, but it has started to over heat again and he's assuming it's the gaskets again. I wanted to get y'alls opinion on this and is it really likley to be the head gaskets again.

There are many possibilities as to what the problem may be. It could be a blockage in the cooling system somewhere, the cooling fans not turning on, thermostat stuck closed, quality of the head gaskets, if it was repaired correctly etc. etc.

Since it was a Subaru dealership I'd assume they would know a thing or two about changing head gaskets.

They make new pistons every day, so why worry?

This post is vague at best... Are we talking about a Focus, Contour or Mustang?

Or a Lightning...lol!! What year make and model? How many miles? What is the overall condition? Auto or stick? $1500 sounds a bit too low. Like something might be off? And are you absolutely sure it is a SVT?

If he still has a warrenty for the head gasket I'd go in and have it fixed, but it can also be the radtiator fluid
