So, I found a car for sale cheap, but it has no title, the guy sent me the carfax data on it, and it was all "OK" I double checked it with another program, and it also came up OK.

The thing is, the car has no title with it, its a 94 crown vic police interceptor, runs, and did I mention affordable?

What do I have to do title/register this car if I buy it. It's in Fla. Also, I have a Wa state drivers lic. Do I have to get that changed first then title then register?

also, if I were to buy the car, and not title it, how much are 4.6L v8's worth? or, maybe I'll just ship the engine back to Wa and put in my 83 ranger =)

94 should be a no-PI motor, not worth much at all. I don't think they put PI's in the crown vics untill 2001 or so.

anywho, if they car is registered in his name just go with him to get an Affidavid from the DMV.

I doubt it's registered, I guess he bought it as a parts car, but decided to put it up for sale, It runs, drives, needs a little work, but he only wants 500 obo, sketchy, but I need a car for work. Carfax say it has a clear title. I mean, is it worth the hassle to buy it even if it is dirt cheap? Could it be as easy as just filing for a missing title, or a nightmare, anybody have any experiance?

This is for WA but I am sure the process for other states will be close to the same. The best bet would be to call the DOL in WA and FL to get the most current and correct info.

I don't think you want to try to put one of those physically huge cammer motors in your Ranger. You'd be far better off with a pushrod engine. More power for less money -and it's smaller.

Yea, I would'nt put it in the ranger, though it'd be a fair sight quicker than the 2.9l v6 =)

Do the cars in the parts yards run? This car is supposed to run well.

I wouldnt hassel with it! Got to this site www.sspmustang.org there is tons of ssp cars on there but mostly stangs. Your looking at $500 to purchase then another $1000 or so to ship or if you fly/drive there then your in it that cost also? With the price of gas now i wouldnt! I sold a car from wa with a lost wa title to a guy in oregon. He had to come here get it in his name then take it to oregon and title it there. It cost him $25.00 for here and not shure what oregon charged? peace

Yeah from FL you gonna be over $1100 to ship. I had a car shipped from AZ and paid like $1300 for a good trucker with references. That was 3+ years ago.

You can find a crown voc local of less than that and get a title.. or look for a grand marquis. same car, more plush and usually owned by grandpas so driven mellow ;-P

check craigslist.

BOOM here is a perfect one for yah..

If the title history is clean. Then it should be very easy for the seller to go to the DMV and get a title for it.

It seems a bit fishy to me. I would ask him to do the leg work and spend an hour making it legit.
