ID LIKE OPINIONS PLEASE
mY 5.0 AN 89 5 SPEED LX 5.0 217,000 miles Still running fast
I do get smoke as i jump on it from 80mph up
I,ll soon or now need a new engine.
I also know someone who,s got an 89 vette auto though only 77,000 miles though
Good condition
$4,000.
What would you do
throw or rebild the engine
or sell the 5.0 and get the vette>???
All ideas

vette whole body is basically fiberglass, sucks in a collision.

my vote is to keep the stang and rebuild the motor

Personally I'd rebuild the motor in the 'stang. Do you like the stang? Is it in pretty good shape?

I'm not a fan of those vettes. They definitely are faster than a stock 5.0 though.

Of course, what answer could you expect here? :SNSign:

vetts arent that fast my BEST FRIEND had one 89 automatic and my 93 GT with flows and a k&n would smoke him at the track every time but it was very consistent keep the stang if you want a fiber glass ride buy a boat

i don't know why this is in the tech section, but i would hold onto the mustang! if you can get your hands on a zo6 then jump all over it for that price. lol
but since you have 200k on the mustang id have to think about that corvette, how much does the mustang mean to you. how long have you had it. kind of questions running through my head. its smoking like you said. i guess you should consider it

hahaha... Only in a Mustang forum will someone tell you to pick a 5.0 over a 5.7 Vett. Those l98's may not have the simplicity of the Lego like set up of the 5.0 but It's replaced with power. Also has aluminum heads.

I put a Lt4 hot cam kit in my 89 Iroc L98 and ran with 345hp LS1's all day. Gasket matched stock heads and shorty headers.... All day!!
The stock intake wont do much over 4800 rpms but It's replacable.

I'd just keep doin what your doin and research before you make the wrong choice.

Have to admit $4000 into a 5.0 would be nice!
