You will need the right bellhousing. There are at least 3 that I know of. You need what is normally called the "small" 157t bellhousing (not the mustang II small bell but you probably wont find one of those anyway). Not too easy to find anymore. You can ID it by how far down the fins go. Make sure you get the correct seperator plate to go with it. I have a picture of the small and large bells sise by side on my computer at home. I discovered that the larg bell will phisically fit in the car, but you would probably have clearance problems with long tubes and the 164t flexplate for a 5.0 is really expensive. And speaking of flexplate, you will need one of those too. TCI makes a 50oz 157t flexplate that is only like $60 from Jegs. Thats what I used. The rod you heard about is the kick down rod and I tried 3 different ones and never found one that would fit my car. You don't "NEED" it but you wont have passing gear without it. Loker makes a kickdown cable that will work and I think they run about $50. You will obviously need things like the dipstick tube, trans cooler, converter of your choice and you will need to bend up a set of cooler lines. As far as shifters go, my C4 came with the floor shift lever so I was able to fabricate an adjustible linkage rod and retain the stock A4LD shifter. The column shift lever is different, you would probably need to go with an aftermarker shifter or figure out how to make something else work. I believe that you can also use the stock shifter out of older auto cars like Pintos, Mustang II, maybe Maverick etc. You can use your old driveshaft but you will need to grind the welds on your crossmember and slide it to line up with the C4 tranny mount. Your old starter will also work. Im sure Im forgetting something but I cant think of what.

And as a side note....I have a complete fresh C4 setup for sale with stall, flexplate, hardware and the whole deal.

cool thats good to know! how much do you want for that c-4 setup. give me the more info on that c-4 setup. like brand and size of stall........

26 spline, case fill C4 w/floor shift lever
11" 2300-2500 stall (Jegs brand)
TCI flexplate - 50oz, 157t for 85+ 5.0 (SFI approved)
ARP flexplate bolts
"small" bellhousing
block seperator plate
Dipstick & tube
Cooler lines & bellhousing bolts

I had it rebuilt and installed it in the car for a couple hundred miles at the most. Stall, flexplate etc were brand new when installed this summer. I want $500 for all of it. Everything you need for a fox mustang installation. I'm in Kansas City, don't really want to ship it.
