HAve any of you guys tried the racer C&L CAI? Does it require ONLY the Diablo Predator 2, or does the regular Predator carry a custom tune for this intake? I'm just wondering b/c I'd like to get that CAI with a set of Borla straight thru mufflers, and eventually upgrade to the Paxton or Vortech Superchargers. Let me know if this would be a good idea. I wouldn't want to pay the $ for a custom tune from a shop. Thanks everyone!

until you get the supercharger on, you will LOSE power with the racer kit. i would wait until you get everything before buying the racer kit. when you get the supercharger, you will need a custom tune anyway.

how would I lose power?? Are the pre-programmed tunes not good? Will it affect any internals?

its kind of like the old 351c 4v heads. there is a point that bigger is not better. its just too big for a near stock car. you loose intake velocity with it. call brenspeed, they dyno tested it. (im pretty sure it was brenspeed) thats why they call it the "racer". its for serious motors. if you had heads and cams, or a supercharger, then it would be different. then you would need the extra flow.

According to this dyno, there wouldn't be a loss of power at all. There is just no actual power advantage to having the bigger setup over the regular C&L. Aside from the plastic one being lighter, cheaper, and staying cooler, that is.
