is the big end of it the inlet side?
also is the slanted end or the straight cut end of the sample tube the in or out?

Big end should be the inlet, what size is it? The slanted side should face the air coming in.

i put the big end as the inlet.
can the tube be installed backwards?

why would you want to install it backwards? The part were the conection should be facing the fender

you have to take your stock plug and plastic piece on a new c&l maf.
it can be installed backwards

the slanted side of the tube is the rear(outgoing air) the flat side is the inlet(incoming air) yes it can be installed backwards as fo rhte direction the housing fits it only would go one wa y in my car the bracket wouldnt let it go another way if iirc and the hoses were also sized differently

facing the car from the grille the meter hould have one bolt towards inner fender and 2 towards the motor

it is correct. i got it figured out.
btw. i took the bracket off*
