C&L or Pro-M

I'm trying to decide between C&L and Pro-M. Whats the pros and cons of each? What experences have you had with each?

Yeah, Pro-M. My car ran great with a C&L when it mostly stock, but once I changed heads and cam I could never get it to run right. I went to a Pro-M 80mm and haven't look back since. Pro-M works much better with a blower too, and can be mounted in the fenderwell if you use a powerpipe

There are pro's and con's to both. The Pro-M uses it's own electronics, while the C&L reuses your stock electronics, it's just a housing. All MAF's work the same, however the accuracy can be argued. I have heard good and back from both meters. I had no issues with the C&L. If I were to stay EFI, I would probally get a 80-90mm MAF Pro-M and a Anderson N/A Powerpipe, but that is expensive, and that isn't what I am doing.

Either one will be fine. I prefer Pro-M. Two friends of mine have C&L and one of them runs amazingly strong. He is a heck of a driver though.

I think C&L had a bad rep (understandably) a few years back but they have seemed to correct them and do better. So either one IMO...

I have always been really pleased with Pro-M products. I have had two of their MAFs each for a different set of injectors and I have no compliaints. I am not a big fan of chrome but the plastic tube is pretty weak... the seam had a slight crack probably from overtightening.

I have a C&L and my car runs great, if i had the cash i would upgrade to Pro-M or whoever they are now.

I dont consider the Pro M an upgrade, but thats just my opinion. I have the C&L because that is what Vortech sells, and my tuner who has sat along side the man behind SCT has just a bit of knowledge said C&L all the way. Now again, there is probably good to both, but the reason that no one has mentioned is whats important. Some one did mention that C&L uses stock electronics, and that Pro M uses their own. This is true, but what was left out was that the electronics that Pro M uses are VERY antiquated and less tech advanced than the stock electronics. Now, they might have switched it up after being acquired, but I would have to see it to believe it. From what I have seen, Ford has much more money to spend on R&D than any aftermarket company. If I can, I buy Ford Performance. Since C&L uses Ford OEM electronics, they get my bid.

The only difference between the OEM and Pro-M parts is that the Pro-Ms are electronically calibrated to the requested injector size, the hardware is used the same way. C&L uses different sized sampling tubes to do this.

Exactly correct. That is the antiquated tech I was speaking about.
