I am done installing my Plenum and 75mm TB, Now the idle is wierd.. It doesnt revv down as smoothley and it likes to stick at 1500 rpms and eventually drop to 900 rpm(stock it was about 600).. Its annoying in traffic because as soon as you put it in first to move up and stop again its stays at 1500 and wont drop and I feel like an idiot when I stop and my engine is going VRRRRRRRRRRR. Is there some adjustment to be made?? Or is that how its gonna mostly be? And Hello to every one!!!!

you're going to need to adjust the tps voltage.

Its as easy as that ayy? So the rpm will drop like when it was stock and every thing will be normal again? I dont have the voltage scanner tool any other ways of going about it?

I just installed the plenum, and mine does it a little, but not as bad as at first. Although your tps may be the culprit, some have said that it will take the car a few driving cycles to adjust. If its been a while, the computer should have "learned" in which case I would check the TPS. Do a search, and you should find something.

I think I fount the problem, the tps is a tad bit misaligned But its hard to take the screws off and I kinda stripped one.. Would I be able to get new screws from ford? Or should I just get a new set from the hardware store?

The screws on these things are complete crap..the head is WAY to soft of a compund considering how hard you have to turn them to get them out..maybe you should replace them with a harder material if possible? Mine have the heads almost ruined from removing only one time..

You can buy new screws from your local hardware store. Just take it in there and they'll know what size of screw you need. The car should be at 1.0v even with the throttle cable disconnected, car on, ignition off. If this doesn't fix the problem, then I'de check my throttle blade screw and see if its maybe blocking the throttle blade from closing all the way. That can also be the problem. Also, becareful with that TPS sensor. They can be broken very easily and they are about 30-35 bucks for a new one.

I once had a Mac 70mm throttle body on my car and the thing was a piece of crap. The throttle blade was off-line and I couldn't back it off enough to allow it to close completely at idle. I ended up taking it off and purchasing a FRPP 70mm throttle body. Much better quality and it came with a new TPS sensor so there was no need to switch TPS sensors. That was worth it in itself. So, double check everything. It could just be the Mac throttle body isn't made correctly.

Mine would do that too when I first started the car up. They would then drop to around 1000. It was the throttle body, it was just a pos.

The other thing i can say to do is to disconnect your battery cables while your doing the install. THat way as soon as you start your car the computer is already into the learn mode and will not take a couple of drive cycles! it will take it a minute to recognize more air, but it will compensate. the othe thing is if you have a vaccum leak it will rise in rpm! Meaning if the mac throttle body is junk you will most certainly have the problem you are having!

i have the mac TB & no problems at all, after i adjusted the TPS anyway. i stripped teh screws on mine during the install, so i went & bought a new tps for the new TB at advance. i think it was like 20-30 bux there. it was alot easier to deal with it after i got the new screws. you can take in the TB to advance or auto zone & they can match up the thread pattern.

Sounds like the throttle cable might be tied up or knotted. You might want to check that as well.

What does the voltage need to be set to? And how do I set it?

Set it below 1 volt. It also sounds like you might have a bit of a vacuum leak.

you'll need a volt meter & if you have one i believe you hook it up to the green wire at the TPS. but the easiest way to do it (& the way i did it i'll add) is to simply loosen the TPS & move it slightly & see where the car ends up idling right then tighten it down
