I just had the C&L plenum and 75mm TB installed a few hours ago at the shop that did the install in that MM&FFs article. I can't speak for the combo without the TB but the combo is great. You can really feel a difference.

I think you have no real knowledge of what does and doesn't work and make poorly based decisions on what suits your needs. Good luck.

P.S. TBs are worthless on a NA car.

I realize that I am in that category more often than I should be, and I am the first to admit it. Perhaps I am too trusting a person, but I treat people how I would want them to treat me. Perhaps next time I'll wait until there is a better consensus about the power gains and exactly what was responsible for them.

Is there any chance an AccuFab 75mm TB will make a difference when my PI heads are installed?

My point exactly. I just don't wanna see people spending money on products that don't benefit them and them wishing they didn't buy it.

Since you might have missed it 2000GT's comment was a shot at me not a sincere question about my thoughts on a product. Thus the tone of my reply. He didn't like the fact that he was on the losing end of an arguement when he tried comparing numbers between two cars with similar mods except for LTs. Although it's a fun comparison it didn't prove a thing since the only way to truely compare it same car before and after no other changes. That and track numbers, which is just as important.

Good job, you figured it out. Let me guess, you either personally sell LT headers or are somehow affilated with folks that sell them? Just a guess.

You say I was proven wrong, but yet still nobody wants to e-mail me their LT dynojet files.

Tell you what, if somebody with LT's sends me their Dynojet file, I will graph my dyno with theirs and post it on Stangnet. Based on what you have stated the last week, "a 250 rwhp GT w/ LT's will produce more avg. hp. than another 250 rwhp GT without LT's". Well, if that's true, my graph should run underneath the LT graph except for at the peaks. Will someone please send my their dynojet file so I can prove myself wrong? Just looking for cars with LT's and around 250 rwhp. If you are considering LT's and staying N/A, this will be very informative for you!

In the same tradition as last night's Oscars, I like to present a special award to people who are deserving of it. In the past couple weeks, a certain Stangnet member has proven time and time again that they are worthy of this award. Arguing for the sake of arguing, making stupid comparisons, not giving up the fight long after being proven wrong, and jacking other threads to carry on a dead argument are thier best qualities. So tonight, I would like to present this year's "Pendejo Oro" award to: 2000GT.

Back on topic, the only thing I will warn you about with a TB is that my Accufab whistles like a SOB. I've checked for leaks, etc. and everything is nice and tight. Its not a big deal, but if you are really picky or easily annoyed by odd sounds coming from your engine bay, you might try to find out from other GT owners if the BBK and Mac TBs make the same sort of noise.

I realize I was not the person targeted by the comment, but I do fit the description anyway. So at the risk of repeating myself:

Is there any chance an AccuFab 75mm TB (in conjunction with the C&L MASS Air Kit, TrueFlow Pipe and Plenum) will make a difference when my PI heads are installed?

And are you saying long tubes do NOT make a difference, because from what I have read, the consensus seems to be that they do make a difference, not for max numbers, but throughout the curve? I'm thinking about having them done when the headswap is done, but if they are not worth it, I'll save myself some money for a change.

im not reading all 30 replies, so i dont care if you guys have said this or not,
i know someone said, 2 peak hp blah blah, but the rest of the curve is better....

this statement is the TB has shown on the dyno to only help the top end, and it doesnt give enough to justify its 200+ price tag. i dont run the TB on my cnl, and i still gained 1 mph or so at the track.

TB is unnecessary, esp on a budget.

What kind of HP increase did you notice with the C&L? I am leaning to just buy the Pleanum and save the TB money and spend it somewhere else.

Hopefully someone will chime in with a good answer. I was looking at buying the whole combo myself but will use the search feature a bit more first.

I had a BBK 70mm TB along with a UPR cai and it whistled alot. But I think it was more from the aluminum pipe of the cai than the TB itself. Because now that I replaced the TB and cai with a Accufab 75mm TB and a C&L inlet pipe it does not whistle as loud as it did before. I still hear it but not much. Either way it did not bother me . However it could be the TB. Maybe BBK TB's whistle more than the Accufab TB's . I never had a MAC TB so I wouldn't know about those.

that is my friend, who dynoed the stocker first, then the cnl, then the cnl with throttle body, the top line is with the TB, but imo thats not worth enough to justify 200+. no one else has really done the throttle body test, like him, but everyone tends to throw around CFM numbers(especially accufab)

cfm doesnt really mean anything. with the TBs, plenums.(unless blown) but most gains you will see with the plenum/tb combo are 85% plenum

Hahahaha that is funny I work for a bank I have zero to do with headers or selling any kind of parts other than used parts off my car that didn't make any power or I have no need for (need a pair of draglites? ).

For your personal benefit I hate longtubes with a passion they are a pain to install (as are any headers), make it hard to get the tranny out, requires 02 extenders, aren't cheap, require a different intermediate pipe but you know what all that was wiped away by the fact that everyone with longtubes was pulling a solid 2 MPH over my traps. I tried 100 different ways trying to justify why they weren't worth it, in fact I bought a bullitt intake before longtubes. In the end I had to give in to longtubes because aside from the fact that history in racing has proven longtubes to be a great source of power I was getting my ass handed to me by others with the same parts (plus longtubes). Soon as I put them on the picked up 2 MPH in the 1/8 and 1/4 mile. I was consistently trapping 106-107 MPH and made 267RWHP with the stock tune. My last dyno was 253RWHP but was not a true before and after comparison because I changed transmissions between the two.

By the way Mike(AutomaticWeapon) and Rich(Starkie) are making 270+RWHP with the the basic bolt ons, bullitt intake and longtubes.

Ordered the C&L Pleanum off Ebay for $179 delivered. Going to skip buying a Throttle Body. I really do not think it will be worth the $200 extra. I will save that $ for the lower C&L Intake when it comes out and replace the plastic one.
