I installed my C&L plenum a couple of days ago. I had clearance issues with the vacuum line in the back and the throttle cable but I fixed it up. The throttle cable is still rubbing up against the vacuum line a little bit, but it's nothing major. That's just about my only complaint. The power increase is very noticeable w/ my stock throttle body. I've heard people say it's only good for 7rwhp, but it feels like it gave me more than that :nice:

Sounds good. You see alot of reports of matching the c&L with a 75mm throttle body. I think its overkill, and you should stick with the stock one you have now.

I had the same issue with my CnL vacuum tube on the rear. Did the ol' head scratch, then using two hammers(wood end on the fitting), and the other to tap, tap down about 1/2" or so to make clearance. Problem solved........I should be on MONSTER GARAGE! :D

So what are you guys paying out for your plenums if you dont mind me asking?
Also are most of you guys sticking with C&L or are you going with the dragon or whatever that other one is, or doesnt Accufab have one as well?
Just curious on these things. I see more and more people say they like them and it makes me want one :D.

Thanks man, Ill check it out since we are slow as crap here at work lol.

Also Ive got a '90 LX 5.0 as well, what all have you done with yours? PM me for this one lol no sense in this thread getting to far off topic :D.

Back on topic, how easy is this thing to install? I hear all this about lines hitting and thats not my bag baby :D, but if its pretty straightforward, Im all about saving myself a buck or hundred on install charges.

well my old car is the 1990 LX, and before i sold it i had headers, exhaust, a shifter, and a couple of small things...now i have a 2003 GT and its the focus of my mods..

as for the install, from what i have seen and what i was told, its incredibly easy..like 20 minutes or something..i'll post again tonight after i install mine..

Ronnie Diaz is a great guy to talk to btw and he can help you out with any pricing questions and all of that..his email is [email protected]

Why doesnt anyone like or talk about the trickflow one?

to be honest i was told the C & L was the best one out there and since i didn't know any better about the other brands out there, i just went with C & L...but i've heard of many people that are really happy with their C & L's

the prevailing sentiment seems to be the C & L Plenum and Accufab TB combination..i have seen dyno graphs that prove the HP gain and thats what we are all after in the end :nice:

Can our intakes really gain that much from the 75mm TB though? I have always been under the assumption anything over 70mm was overkill since no matter how much air gets pulled through the filter, goes through a larger MAF, goes through a larger pipe, goes through a larger TB, goes through a larger plenum, it is still limited by what the intake will take in, then limited by the stock heads.
Im just throwing this out there, I know all the dyno's, sotp meters, track tests ect... show this is a good mod, but did Ford really put an intake, albiet plastic, but an intake that can make use of large amounts of air?
