Hey everyone, I just purchased the new C&L Intake Plenum and an Accufab 75MM throttle body. Will my computer adjust itself or am I looking at problems? I am currently using the Superchips Max Microtuner to retune my computer for my gear change, among other things. My Mods are in my signature. By the way, I got both parts from C&L direct for $407.00, shipped. That ain't too bad, is it? I saw the write-up in MM&FF and said what the heck, 12 HP for 400 bucks? I went for it. Thanks.

you would have paid less if you had bought it from ronnie diaz..

i have both, but i don't have a chip or anything, so what i did was disconnect the batter and hold the brake pedal down for a few seconds to drain all the electricity from the system. then i installed everything and reconnected the battery. in this way, the car's computer was re-set and so far i have had 0 problems.

i just put them on last night and it runs fine. i have done nothing to my computer. i can tell the difference with the plenum and TB, its pretty sweet. i got mine for 395 shipped from CL performance.

I disagree. I think you will run lean and may run into detonation or pinging. Look at my mods- I have almost the same setup as you. Once I installed the Superchips performance setting I immediately got detonation. The only way I was able to stop the pinging was with the Pro-M remote optimizer.

Keep in mind, I can only get 91 octane in CA. So you may not ping if you can get 93 octane.

I installed this stuff over my lunch break yesterday:

- C&L MAF (80 or 85mm, I can't remember rith now!) kit w/K&N
- C&L TrueFlow pipe
- AccuFab 75mm TB
- C&L plenum

I got it all at http://www.rpmoutlet.com for abt $750 with free shipping.

It took 1 1/2 hours and I had these problems:

- The connector on the back of the plenum was too big for the hose that goes there (I made a make-shift adapter to reconnect them)
- The pipe did not fit under my strut tower brace (I think it is stock on the verts); I had to loosen the brace to get it in.
- I did not have time yesterday to disconnect the battery and now I am getting a check engine light.
- It pings alot when under a load (the T/A is set to 14 and I use 93 octane all the time); I'm guessing it is too lean.

This afternoon I disconnected the battery for an hour and re-did the hose connector (still not happy with it but it's better). I just reconnected the battery, but I haven't had time to drive it yet to see how it is.

I'm still not sure what to do about the brace, I'll probably try to put a spacer under the top bolt to lift it or something like that.

Well, no pinging today, but I still have the check engine light. I am thinking the TPS is off and that is causing the check engine light.

Plus, it is acting like it did when IAC was stuck open, hanging at around 1500 or so and then finally going down about 5 seconds after comingo to a complete stop. Probably a vaccuum leak, I didn't replace any gasgets so that is probably what is going on there.

The positive thing is that it feels stronger above 3000 RPM :nice:
