Ok all please weigh in on this if you have experience with either. I have narrowed down my CAI choices to the C&L Racer or the JLT for my 07 GT. I have seen good numbers on both, 5.0 Magizine quoted a 27 RWHP increase with the JLT and a tune and I have seen comparable numbers for the C&L also. So which one? I am leaning toward the C&L because of reputation but the JLT with tuner from Bama is $549, the C&L Racer is $625. That is a big difference so to me it comes down to performance. I will may more if it is worth it but would lake any opinions on both intakes that you have to offer.

get the cheaper one. the added cost is not worth it, IMO. power wise, they are so similar. if the C&L looks $100 better to you, then go ahead and get it. it does not look $100 better to me.

I have 3 CAI's for my car, 2 sitting in the basement. I plan on doing a test in the spring to see how much a CAI really gains over a tune. The 3 CAI's I have are the JLT 2, C&L Racer and Steeda. I have the JLT on my car currently. From what I have seen and heard, the JLT and C&L will give you approximately the same HP. I do feel that the C&L is better quality piece but I do not think it is worth $100.00 more...

IMHO, I think that the JLT looks like something I made in my garage with some crap I got at the hardware store. Brenspeed sells the C&L racer with X-CAL 2 for $599. Is the superior look of the C&L intake worth $50 (not $100) to you? It was to me.

JLT. its just shy under 200 bucks. Proven performance plus you can get it paint matched to your car.

That is my opinion as well...

That said, I got my JLT for $110.00, the C&L was given to me so I didn't pay a dime for it. If you can get the C&L for less than $50.00 more than the JLT, it is worth that extra coinage...

Get the package from Brenspeed. Looks wise, it's worth it. I agree it looks a bit homemade. If you're only worried about performance, go with JLT. But I show my car several times a year, and want it to look great. For the small difference in price, it was worth it. Performance-wise, they're about the same, though the Racer will give you larger gains if you end up digging into the motor, because of the larger MAF.

I just got the JLT II from Bamachips and I love it.

It looks great color matched to your car, sounds evil, and in many tests it outperformed all other intakes. The price is awesome as well.

That said my only concern about the JLT is that it has a bit of a home made feel to it. You really have to play with it in order to install it correctly. You also have to be very careful in fitting it because some plastic parts can break easily.
In comparison kits like the Steeda, C&L, and K&N have an almost OEM fit / finish to them.

If the entire intake was painted to match it might make a difference. IMHO, painting the middle of the intake makes it look even more homemade.

Dyno Tested a C&L Racer and the JLT II on the same day, within 20 minute of each pull.

C&L Racer - 311 RWHP
JLT II - 316 RWHP

I wonder if the C&L Inlet Pipe would have done better with Justins (VMP) 88mm MAF Housing?
I think there may be a reason he uses it in his kits.
