C4 Help Please!!!!

Ok guys, Just got done rebuilding my C4. Got everything put in and started it up and it sounded like the engine was loading up. Gave it a little gas while in park and the car moved forward. Same with reverse. In all the gears there is only drive. I do not get 1st, or 2nd. When i tried getting it back in teh shop by pushing it the trans made a clicking sound while it park. (it almost felt like it was trying to hold, but was unable to) I have been racking my brain as to what could be slipping, or if the two bands are not holding like they are supposed to be. I am totally lost please help me.

how much fluid did you put in? shoulda put in 4, started the engine and put in 3-4 more quarts.

are you 100% sure that your main valve is properly placed in the valve body?

Your shifter is definetly not adjusted correctly. The detent for park cannot grab all the way. Hence the clicking.
My guess is something is amiss in the valvebody. Drop it and go over the instructions again over and over. Sound like your your reverse band is not letting go.You did air check it right ? Stop and fix before you burn up the R band. Other wise the tranny has to come back out, and apart.

Adjust the shifter and check to see if it is slipping at the linkage. If all is well, adjust the bands.
