This is my first post, so lets hope it goes right. lol.
So I have a 67 coupe with a 302 and the original c4 that is beginning to slip between 1st and 2nd. I have another c4 in my garage that I plan to get rebuilt and then swap in. My question is, what should be a good price to pay for a new C4, or to get mine rebuilt with a good shift kit and stall??

I picked one up on craigslist that was a fresh rebuild for $200. So id say look around there first. You can also check out click click racing for rebuild tips and pointers.

Yeah I have been looking on craigslist alot latley for one. Theres a couple companies that sell a fully built C4 with a shift kit and a converter for 499, and I thought this was pretty good. But you know cheap can always mean lousy as well. If I were to get mine rebuilt, what are your guys' opinions on a shift kit?

Do you happen to remember a company or two that offered that kind of price? For future reference, I'd be curious to check them out.

TIA

CarFreakGT, the company was based here in the NorthWest and they are called Strange Transmission. Hey thanks Wicked65, that sounds like a good plan to me. I just want a c4 that will withstand about 400 hp down the road when I do a new engine rebuild.

Thank you. I have a while until I'm ready for it, but I like to get the info and be ready to look when the opportunity arises.

Yeah, I have the money right now to do the swap out, just not the time. multiple projects are kinda hindering that. haha.

Well back to the question, what are some type of deals that you guys have gotten on rebuilding your c4?

Here is someone semi local for you.

Performance AODs & C4s
paulstephens@q.com

He knows what it take to make a C4 live. I have never priced his stuff, but he has helped me with some stuff when I built mine. He does not ship though.

Oh okay sweet, thanks Brian. One guy I talked to who was soppose to be really cheap said that he could rebuild my c4 with all stock internals, no shift kit, and no convertor for 750$. Im starting to think cus im a kid I get treated different. lol. Owell, just wanted to see what kind of deals you guys have been getting for I have a rough figure to go off of.
