Mine has been bone dry for 3 years since the rebuild. They don't like to leak, but they will if you give them no other choice.

The fluid level is right on the money. i had it rebuilt by a very reputable company 3 years ago. i probably have 1000 miles on it since then. it just started leaking about a month ago. very small drops....and now a 3 foot long trail underneath the car.
just put on a new trick flow pan....seems to fit good - but, obviously that wasn't the problem....

Sounds like the front pump seal. From what I understand, the leaks you usually hear about are from the pan.

What I always do on a tranny or oil pan is to take a ball peen hammer and a block of wood and dent the holes out away from their mounting surface, it doesn't take much. Usually they're sucked in towards the mounting surface and you don't get a good seal. Takes a couple minutes, but I've never had a leaker after I'd done that.

Actually, I think I termed it wrong, I mean the seal where the converter goes into the front pump, I think the front pump seal is the one that seals the front pump to the tranny. Sorry, I'm a 4-speed guy. Put a toploader in and it won't spooge on your driveway and driving will be a heck of a lot more fun

I beleive the seal is just like a bearing seal, drop the tranny, pull the converter, pull the seal, (hard part) put new seal in (hard because of the outer input shaft), reinstall converter, install tranny, top fluid off, done.
