69 Mustang C6 transmission. Speedometer cable sheered at tail housing won’t budge and I have tried. My question is this I would like to remove the tail housing and move it to the bench for better access. Will it come off with the speedometer gear still installed.

Yes it will, even though it is preferable and best practice to remove the speedo drive first.
