World class super car at a fraction of the price. Puts down 450+rwhp stock and has the 2nd best time for a street legal car at Nürburgring right after the Carrera GT.

Just wish I had the $$$.

I wish I had the money too! They really did things right with this model. I have yet to see one on the road around portland, but I know a bunch have been delivered to their rightful owners. Still lusting after a vette Paul?

Wrong forum Isnt it J/K Paul nice to hear from ya again I think thats a nice car I mean really nice and it looks sharp, but thats alot of of money..to me anyway, what are they like 60 grand or up ..yikes .From what i've read in motortrend there very much at home on the track but on the street they ride pretty bad very darty and skip along literaly on the streets because of the very stiff suspenion and have hardly any insulation for noise. Now before you or anyone starts bashing the cobra, im not comparing it to a cobra. Thats in a different league although i'm pretty happy with the way mine drives and the power I have I could more than likely run close to one in stock trim for a fraction of the cost And if someone were to pick up a used cobra for about 22000 or so and put a another 7000 grand in it you'd have a c6 z06 eater at half the price

they run mid 11's stock at 125? i believe. awesome cars, really the only chevy ive been a fan of all around since 60's camaro's era.

comparing a used cobra to it is unfair, 7k in a cobra and the vette would still out handle the hell out of it and out brake it, ect.

the same arguement could be made for anything cheaper then a cobra too. buy a 3k fox body, and spend 10k on the motor/suspension, run 10's and beat both of them at "x" amount less.

dont get me wrong. if i get a decent job soon im going all out for a terminator, just an unfair comparison for anything.

I believe it runs 11.6 ish stock with a pro driver and I was talking straight line not road course and for twice the money it better out handle it IMO. I'd luv to run a c6 zo6 on the street with my dot stickies and I promice i'd have him ordering some new go fast parts.Especialy when I get my new tune and 60lb injectors FORDS FOR EVER

The new Z06 is in an entirely different league than our stangs.I like the 03&04 cobra and I love my saleen. However this new vette is a supercar at a fraction of the price. No matter how much you mod a mustang it's still a stang. But that is the fun in owning one.You can mod the hell out of it and make it your own.

I agree about being in a different league. However, if the league is 60k plus buyers, you wont see many at the track, road course, etc. Shows, and get togethers yeah, as the 60k plus Saleens are very far and between when it comes to seeing them in person at events, etc. I really like the C6 and the Z06 is just that much better. Cant afford one so I dont have much of an opinion on them.

For 60Gs+ I think I'd rather own a used Viper GTS, or Ferrari, or Turbo Porsche, etc... just my taste.

For that much money, the vette just doesn't seem to have the , ....um, the..., "style" that you would expect from a car of that price. Again just my op.

Still good performance though...

But for me (if I had the cash...) 30K cobra (sonic blue with chrome 18s) , +10K parts and labor in go fast (ken / exhaust / diablo), 10K parts and labor in stop/turn (brakes / bracing / spring / strut), I think you'd hand the vette its ass.

And with the 10K (probably more) you have left over, you could buy a comuter to drive if it rains.

Think again. This car got the 2nd best lap time at Nürburgring, with a time of 7min 42secs with a standing start compared to the Carrera GT with a 7m 32secs with a flying start. When the bar gets this high doing suspenssion upgrades is just not enough.

No, not really from what I've read on the corvette forum it handles pretty smooth but firm on the street. As far as noise insulation...ehh dont know about that, but blocking the sounds of a 427 is something I wouldnt want to do.

Pretty much, I went to check this new Z06 out last saturday and the MSRP is $65k and the dealer had a $25k markup on it, making the car $90k plus tax!!! The car is amazing but not $90k's worth. I'll probably buy one, but only in a couple of years when the prices are hopefully $50k or less.

Cory, you back yet?

That sounds like a good plan. I may end up doing a used '02 Z06 for the time being, since my stang is currently being transformed. I need to learn the LS1edit software anyway.
