Hi, this is my first post on Stang Net but I've read a lot of good information. I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with their cai and rain? I know of a guy that had a problem with a cai and slush but it was on a different brand of car and I don't know how the cai is exposed.

Never heard of anyone having issues with water and the CAI. Most aftermarket CAIs locate the filter where the stock airbox is located and have a shield for engine heat. I would imagine if you have water problems with a CAI you have bigger things to worry about.

Thanks for the reply, I haven't had any problem, I just got thinking about it on the way to work the other day. It was raining real hard and it made me think about it. With the oiled filter it would take a pretty direct shot to get through but I wondered if any one may have had a problem.

I have a CAI and my ram-air hood has two scoops that flow air through a channel and dump on it right on top of the CAI's filter. I have had no issues driving in the rain; and Miami can get pretty wet.

The only time the car sucked in a little water was driving it through a touch-less car wash. One of the jets squirted water directly into one of the scoops. Nothing bad happened; but the car did shut off. It started right back up, though. I CAI with a stock hood should have no problems at all on these cars.
