i installed my Steeda CAI did i need to put the screen from the OEM intake on the new CAI. Is anyone having problems without the screen?

no problems and i dont have a screen on mine either

how do you guys like the steeda, feel any difference? what plug has to be relocated on the install?

i love it. it changed the exhaust note. you definaty feel the change in power. the plug that needs to be relocated is explained in the instructions. it gets mounted on the the new airbox. they supply the rubber piece that ensures it goes on with a good fit.

I did have a piece that had to be mounted on mine is the 04 different?

actually i think the 04 does not have the sensor that needs to be relocated

I love my steeda so far no complaints I have Steeda UDP's coming soon in the mail.

No screen on my BBK and never a problem.

The screen is just a safety precaution for any debris that might get in the inlet pipe. If you have a decent filter then no problems.

sorry not a mechanic what does run righer mean. Will this cause a problem in the future?

The screen makes the air pressure the same in all parts of the tube so the MAF gets a better reading.

If you want to learn more about screens, do a google search on wind tunnel designs. It tells you what a screen and beehive holes do.

I thought removing the screen leaned out the mixture....

When MM&FF did their article on cheap upgrades on a Mach One they dynoed it with and without the screen. It made more HP without the screen, but leaned out the mixture a little too much for a daily driver.

That's how it makes more power...

I dynoed with and without screen and without screen it ran richer..Not much but richer.. GO FIGURE!!!

Works for me! I took mine out when I got my FIPK2. I was always worried about it running lean, from the MM&FF article, but it's good to know that it probably does not make that much difference!
