First check and see if your MAF is plugged in properly. See if it's even working by plugging and unplugging it, and noticing any changes that occur in the way the car runs. Anything you unplugged to put in the intake, make sure it's plugged back in.

Agreed. There is nothing related to the CAI which would cause the problem other than something not being connected properly.

Been there done that. I've left things disconnected before and flipped out, only to realize that it was my own mistake in the long run.

OP, check out the MAF first and foremost and report back. Also, if the MAF is plugged in and working properly, pull codes and check in with us again. The guys here are real helpful, and the majority have much more knowledge that I can offer. Just remember we're coming up on a holiday weekend so site traffic might be low.

Also: If the CAI has an oilable air-filter element, see if the MAF wires got covered in oil. This is not uncommon.

Good luck.

Is everything tight and sealed correctly with the clamps? I had an issue with the rubber connector coming loose and air was getting into things after the MAF causing backfires and stuff.

Did you by chance mess with the timing/remove the spout connector when you installed the new CAI? I would check to make sure you did not pull anything loose or pull any wires out when you removed the stock airbox setup.

Make sure the rubber vaccuum hose that runs from the cai tube to the valve cover is connected. Also check the connection of the cai itself at the joints. It sounds like you have a lean condition likely caused by unmetered air.
