I'm looking into purchasing the two seperately at a reduced cost. I'm wondering if I would still have to take the tuner ( Diablo Predator ) to a tuner when I install the CAI to get it all to be properly set up or if the unit's already loaded performance programs are compatible.

Thanks all!

you need a tune to put CAI on.....you can use the base tune it comes with...I suggest getting a custom tune though for greater power numbers......

may I suggest

JLT Cai and a tune by Brent Hughes at dtpracing.com

I understand that the CAI requires a special tune to work, I guess my question is, if I purchase a tuner separately, the Diablosport predator for example, can I use the tunes it comes with with the CAI or do I need to get the unit set up when the CAI is installed?

Picking up the tuner tonight, just want to be sure I can use it first....

I have a JLTII Intake I'll sell you. It has maybe 600 miles on it. PM me for details.

If your referring to a preloaded or canned tuner that has built in tunes for your stock airbox ?? Then the answer is NO, you do not need a cold air kit..I have the SCT X-CAL II Strategy Flash tuner that I purchased and at first I used it with just my stock airbox until I was able to get my Steeda CAI at a later time..If on the other hand your looking to purchase the Diablosport Predator ?? it also has built in tunes for your stock airbox, however if you plan on getting a cold air intake at a later time ?? you will have to get a custom tune file, from whoever your CAI dealer should happen to be..
