Can someone tell me what kind of numbes are expected from cams (SHM, etc)?

On another note, is it worth it to replace a Bassani X w/cats and switch it out with BBK LT with matching O/R H?

well you have two choices 2750's and 2760's. I would take a look at vt mild n/a cams. if you are staying with the stock heads I think they would be better for you. a little less duration than the 2760's.

yes longtubes are worth it in the "power" department.

I think you can expect 15-20hp. it kind of depends on what you do. cams, plenum, tb and tune could pick you up a solid 30-35hp. that is a good gain. with longtubes you could be in the 270-280hp range.

off course this is my "guestament" based on other peoples results. there is a person I have seen with jba shorties, shm 2760's, other misc mods throwing down like 278hp.

Our stage 1 n/a cams gained 22rwhp (without a retune) on a stock longblock (bullitt intake and longtubes). Our stage2 n/a cams gained 29rwhp on a COMPLETELY stock car (only had flow master mufflers).

Was the car tuned or was the 29hp just dropping the cams in and hitting the dyno? Are there any side effects running your stage 2 cams on a stock car?

how did the torque curve compare between bills car and the car with the wild cams? Have you had any numbers on ported heads with you wild cams?

Just the fact you have to change the valvesprings due to the lift of the camshafts. They won't work with the stock ones.

I don't have the dyno graph as of yet, but I was told that the car gained ~20lb/tq throughout the midrange after the tune.

so the stock heads can handle the "bigger" cam so to speak. Is that because of the higher lift with the more mild duration. I have noticed you cams seem to have more lift, less duration, tighter lobe center than say shm. they seem to preform better on the stock heads. I have not seen 2760's net you 29hp on stock heads for example. dammit. now you make me think I should just try cams. I am the worlds worst at making up my damn mind.

So do you think bills car would have actually done better with the wild cams?

well the cams are the same price. no matter what. $569 the springs are $184. the job of putting the springs in with the heads on the car. priceless.
