Cam Position sensor

I have a 93 tempo with a 91 engine in it. The service engine light is on 'cause there's no CMP on the 91 engine but the 93 PCM is still looking for the signal (wires just hanging in the engine bay). Dealership says I can swap PCMs for a 91, but is there any other ideas how to put the light out (not including disconnecting it). Used PCMs are not expensive but just looking for all the info before I proceed
