alright quickes here...plan on buying e303 cam, and cobra intake 70mm throttle body ect. now iv been doing prolly too much reading on these damn intakes, now i from what iv gotten, cobra is generally the best all around preformance..now i see this new BBK intake, and its like $600...and im wondering if it fits under a stock hood for one thing...now im gettin confused on which one would be a better bet...anyone use that bbk one yet?? another question is, with a new intake,tb,l/t headers, will i be able to run a e303 cam with stock heads??

Crane designed the E303 for FRPP -- it is identical to Crane's old PowerMax 2040 cam. Here's what Crane "requires" for that cam.....

GOOD MID-RANGE AND STRONG TOP-END POWER, REQUIRES MODIFIED MASS AIRFLOW, AFTERMARKET INTAKE, PERF. CYLINDER HEADS AND HEADERS, MUST USE 5-SPD AND 3.55 OR NUMERICALLY HIGHER REAR GEARS. REQUIRES CRANE SPRINGS AND RETAINERS. (50 STATE LEGAL 85-93, C.A.R.B. E.O. D-225-46) BASIC RPM 2400-6000

Edit - with the heavier vert, especially if you have stock gears, you're probably not gonna be very happy at all with that cam and stock heads ---- bottom end torque is likely to be very soft.

if you have gears already, start with the cobra intake. worry about the cam when you get heads. if you dont have gears get them first.

The BBK will not outperform a Cobra/Explorer and it's twice the price of a good used intake.........but if you like the way it looks..........

ok I can awnser most of these, The BBK intake will clear the stock hood. the E303 will be fine with stock heads, pistons and everything else. Just FYI, the F303 will clear with stock heads and pistons, that what I got in my stock 89. GREAT POWER GAINS! Headers shouldn't be a problem either. The gt 40 is an all around great intake, but the BBK provides the most HP gain on a stock motor. your call.

Not in this dyno test of an AFR headed and cammed combo .........and I doubt it would beat a well ported stock intake or a Cobra on a totaly stock motor for average power.

LOL.... get the Cobra...install the cam in at 106* ICL ( cut at 110) get a good set of headers and you WILL see power with a set of stock heads..... Dont get lost in all the "Talk" out there slamming a cam with stock heads... they rock!!

Just me...............................

Is that an opinion or a fact with some sort of data to prove it? Not trying to bust your nuts or nothing but opinions don't count in my book.

what about that spyder intake? anyone use that thing. looks like an SN95 intake. comes with fuel rails and supports up to a 90mm TB.
