cam specs

I do not recall the specs offhand but I was AMAZED at how tame they were. IIRC the duration at 50 was around 180-190 for the C-code and lift was about 0.4...simply pathetic!

So yeah, the regular performer cam, although considered an RV grind, WILL wake it up quite a bit, particularly with a decent intake and some small-primary headers.

If you are willing to spend the money for the heads I'd suggest getting the "RPM" versions.

Edelbrock claims 367fwhp with a 5.0 and the RPM treatment. That is almost twice the stock power :D

The stock cam is .368/.381 lift, 184/189 dur. & 109LSA. Teeny Tiny! If you want to make power, ditch the Performer intake. A PerfRPM (or a Wieland Stealth), a set of 1.9/1.6 valved PerformerRPM heads and a Comp XE-series cam would do nicely. :D

LOL...with any of the modern street cams, you won't have any problems like that.:D I'd use a Comp XE256H or a Comp 262H with those heads and a PerfRPM intake On EA3, it made 355hp & 340tq with an XE256H cam. Not quite to the 367hp advertised, but that's a 302, and you have a 289.
