Anyone here running an explorer longblock w/ tfs stage 1 cam and 1.7rr? I just got an explorer longblock and was planning on installing an ecam and 1.7s. I was considering the stage 1 w/ the 1.7s instead. Suggestions are appreciated.

Well I already have the 1.7 and the ecam. I had intended on putting it together that way. The ecam was free, but I had the opportunity to trade the e for the tfs stage 1 but did not want to get rid of the 1.7s. I was just curious if any one had ran that before. I think it should fit. I know the e and 1.7s will fit its just close.

I have run an E cam with 1.72 rr's with no problems on a stock short block. There may be some combos it wont work on but most will probably be fine.

Do yourself a favor and always check valve-to-piston clearance.

So you were running the 1.7 on some GTP heads w/ an ecam and it would not clear?

The TFS Stage 1 cam is sweet. but if you already have the E-cam, run it. Youll still be happy with it.

I have the Lunati cam 51014 in mine. Its a little differant than the Stage 1, mainly its split duration. I LOVE how it works with my Nitrous. Good n/A but it really wakes it up on the bottle.
