cam swap and q?

Is there any way to pull out my stage 1 cam and throw in something better without pulling the intake? The obvious problem I can think of is the lifters.... I have always pulled the intake/timing chain cover to swap in a new cam, im just wondering....

Oh and if I was to swap to 1.7 rockers would I gain any more power with the stock tw heads? If so, any guesses?? Ive heard that the lift on the stage 1 cam with 1.7's flow more than the heads are capable of in stock form.

And finally im wondering what cam people swapped to from their e303 and stage 1's? Im lookin for something better.....

i don't think this can be done without pulling intake as you said the lifters will slide down.

yeah, too bad they dont make a tool that could lift up all the lifters or something. Just take the valve covers and rocker/pushrods off and slam a new bumpstick in.
