:OT: just got my initial cam specs from Ed It's a big one.

Anyways, I was looking at lots of installs and I'm going to have to cut the oil pan gasket up front apperently. But I have a steel reinforced (core) 1 piece from FRPP already installed. Cutting that isnt going to be easy and sealing after wont be good. Is there any way I can just reuse that section of gasket. I mean I have steel core Valve cover gaskets and there reusable dozens of times. Shouldent that oil pan gasket be reusable...maybe not dozens of times but at least once...right?

Dont cut it, just put dabs of silicone between the pan and timing cover...re-use 1 piece gaskets.

You can reuse it - be VERY careful removing the "U" shaped piece from the timing cover - I ripped one where the ends of the U meet the straight pieces on my '72 Mustang while changing out the pan gasket.

Score....Yea I knew I'd have to be really careful with it. But sometimes even when you remove a a gasket that looks good it doesnt reseal. Oh well...hope it works.
