Cam Thoughts??

I have a fairly stock 5.0
I have gt40p heads(little portwork) with 1.96 and 1.54 valves 1.6 rockers
twin springs(similar to the sbc) gt40 upper&lower
K&N cold air intake
ceramic shortys
magnaflows(I dont think the mufflers change anything)

next on my list(probably before the cam)
underdrive pulleys
75mm throttlebody
hypertech chip
24lb injectors

Im looking into getting a cam I still want my car to be smogable and curious to what should be done:shrug:

CAM INFO

Well if you are looking from something a little race but still street-able look at LUNATI or COMP for your needs. The other thing you need to watch is the firing order. Older 5.0l use a 1,5,4 (ECT), the HO use the 351 1,3,7 ECT firing order. You also need to change the lifters (pushrods optional). Hydraulic or solid roller, I would got mechanical solid roller but that's me. Go with a .580 or less lift with a good duration of .288 @.050. There is so many good options so think about what you want the engine to do. The solid roller is going to be a little more race and hydraulic is a little more street but can have valve float. I drag race my 89 mustang and I run a lunati LUN-51020LUN with this cam and my blower I am making 991 HP and 864TQ. When I build engines for my customers it is important that I understand what the engine will be doing. The cam is the brain of the build and will dictate engines overall performance. If this is an 84-93 MAF engine this cam should be great LUN-61011.
