Camaro or even a Firebird?

Now a couple of weeks ago a guy was even showing pictures of his ugly ass GTO and all I did was ask a few times "where am I?" I was told by a moderator to let it go.

I'm with you though!

Wow, he did? That's because there are members of this site that drive other cars besides Mustangs (like me) but we admire the stangs and are gear heads!

 technically, back then it was not a moderator that asked to let it go.... :D

I've owned more GM cars than Fords over the years, but the GTO is still an ugly ass car. Goldenpony's right! This is called stangnet for a reason. Should I post some pics of the '68 RS/SS Camaro? Not here!

Thanks ... I just reworked /cropped a picture I found somewhere on the net and added the blurred edge.
The hardest thing was making it small enough to be usable here!

Yeah I have had the same problem, but I'm learning more and more as I play with my photoshop programs. Did a nice job on yours, looks cool. Thanks:nice:

I've always loved Trans Am's. If they built this:

I would buy it in a second!

I saw that exact picture in a magazine. It's not from GM. It's an artist's rendition of a Firebird. He used a shot of the Camaro concept to create the Firebird picture. The article also had a rendition of a Mercury Cougar which was based on the current Mustang platform.

That's it, only the pics you posted are much better than the ones I saw.
the pic you saw was in HOT ROD, July 06. that pic was good, but i agree, this is much better. the hood scoop, the rear lights, and even the exhaust location is much better with this rendition.

if they made this, i would love to buy one.

It also states it would be needed to produce 100 thousand units to make it worth while.

GM couldn't sell 100,000 of the old Camaro / Firebirds. What in the would would make them think they could sell that many these days in a much more segmented market with stronger competition?

It's time for me to chime in... I've owned more f-bodys than I can count, a z06, two 04 GTO's, and a 06 Mustang GT. I just love cars. I've always loved the new stang so I traded in the GTO to get one. I love my mustang, but I love my trans am more. It's not a Ford or GM thing. What would be an awesome car is a ls1 with a 6speed in a new mustang. The motor is the only thing I prefer from GM. The rest just boils down to personal styling. The one car I didn't like was the GTO. That car was doomed from the beginning between all the bad press and its non-retro theme just killed that car. It was a very nice well built car, just not my style.. The GTO was just GM's lack of effort into a vehicle. They essentially re-badged an Australian built Holden that was 10 years old and called it a GTO. It would have been a different story if they actually developed a new car from the ground up. Oh, and surprise, the car's discontinued until they can redesign one from the ground up.. Ford just did it right with the mustang. The fixed all the complaints from the previous body style as well as make one mean looking machine. I don't know if GM will be able to duplicate the success. I hope they do because its always nice to have a choice. I don't know if I would sell the mustang for a new camaro. I'll have to wait and see what the production model looks like. If they made a retro Trans Am with a bird on the hood, that is a no brainer.. I'll have the first one off the truck, if they make it.. For now, I love driving my mustang. One more thing, don't rule out the challenger. Dodge is closer to a challenger than Chevy is to a Camaro..
