After two times of almost getting a k/b I have come to the realization that it aint going to happen,to many things come up and i have to use the money on the house or the rentals.Im thinking of going with cams.Ok guys what would be my best route? It is not a d/d so it wont be drivin every day.I want a good sound,I allready have magnaflow with catted x pipe. Its an 02 5 speed I would like to do the job myself if possible.Do i need to have the chip reburned or will it run on stock chip.Anything else important i should know. And some good cams would be?

With any cam upgrade, a tune or custom built program will be needed. I recommend going with something from Superchips Tuners. I have a custom built program for my application and it works great.

As for the cams, Comp Cams and VT Engine cams are having great feedback. I'm looking into getting a set of VT Engine Stage II n/a cams as we speak. They will probably result in a strong and lopey idle, but well worth every penny I'm imagining in terms of power.

I hear you about the supercharger bit. Thats why I've went n/a instead. I will admit though, the money I've spent already is enough to pay for a good sueprcharger kit, just I didn't have that size of money all at once to use. If you can afford it all at once, a supercharger is your best bang for the dollar, cause each mod after that gives you great gains. Then again, you have to worry about upgrading to forged internals with a blower, where as n/a, you don't.

If you are looking into cams, you better get some other mods than just a cat back. If you slap in some cams on a pretty much stock engine, you will not see the power gains you are looking for.

remember, more air in and more air out makes power.

pick up the sept issue of MMFF... nice write up in there covering cams in a relatively stock 4.6 --- also run a search for this and you will find all the info u need.

Exhuast work, such as headers and mid-pipe would be a good idea. Also, some upgraded intake work. The best intake work to do for aftermarket cams is a full aftermarket intake assembly, like the Bullit intake or Fox Lake p-51 intake, but both of those will run you over 1,000 dollars. If you want to, a nice plenum, throttle body, and intake cold air kit would do fine with just cams.

pretty much all bolt ons. Then you will see good gains from the cams. If you slapped on the cams on a stock engine, you may pick up like 5-10 peak HP rather than 15+.

Go over to Modular PowerHouse and have Tim get you a custom N/A grind.

Best cams on the market, from the best tuner in the business.

That's a pretty cockey statement considering how many tuners there are across the country these days.
