Cams that clear stock pistons [Need suggestions]

I'm browsing all sorts of bumpsticks to find one thats going to give decent performance without me having a piston to valve clearance issue on stock 1993 pistons. I did notice that AFM is nice enough to classify thier cams as working with stock pistons or not

This is the partial combo:

AFR 165s/61cc, 1.90/1.60, .550” maximum lift(upgradeable)
1.6's Rockers or 1.7's if I can get by with them
Havn't decided 100% on an Intake

The stang is not my daily driver, I will be racing it at the track on a semi-regular basis, however I would like it to be somewhat streetable. lol

Price isn't a huge factor but I do plan on rebuilding with aftermarket pistons at some point so I would like to go with a less expensive cam for now, I'll spend the money on a custom cam (FTI) after I have diff pistons... does that make sense or am I nuts?

Dont mean to steal your post but why does everyone on here not like the alphabet cams? Is it because a custom cam is set for optimal performance for your setup where-as a premade or "alphabet" cam will give the same sorta output with all different kinds of setups?

TFS stage 1 is hard to beat at 140.00. I have never heard anyone complain about it.

A custom will work fine with the stock pistons and those heads. Tons of guys are doing it. I see you have the 61cc heads listed. You wont need to worry about using 1.7s with a custom either.

Unless you just want to cam the car twice I would start with the custom cam if its really in the future for you like you say it is.

Andy00018 - Dont know why people hate the alpha cams. Seems everyone wants to hate any cam thats not custom anymore. I know lots of guys that run real well with the E and F.

The thing with the "Alphabet" Cams is they are flat durations, meaning exhaust and intake durations are the same number. A lot of newer cams have a split duration meaning as you might have guessed the intake and exhaust durations are not the same number. And that's about all I know about that, lol.
