How much should the dowel stick out from the end of Camshaft. I believe I need to grind some off or the pin will stick to far out when the timing chain is installed. I dont believe I will get out the one that is already in there.

Put the cam gear on and see if it sticks out...you want it to be flush with the cam gear

For a simple little test ...........

You can put a smaller diameter washer on the bolt and draw it all
up snug.

You will quickly see if the pin is too long.

If it is too long, you will not be able to use the original larger
washer as it will prevent a flush fit.

The longer pin needed for a mechanical fuel pump drive which
we don't require.

Like said above, just get in there and it will all make sense

Its been awhile since I have been that involved so a few things were forgotten but I got it all worked out. I am waiting for a few more parts from the Brown Santa due early next week and then the HCI swap begins on saturday. I wish it would hurry up, I am not a patient person and my kids wont let me stare at the shiny new parts in peace anyway. thanks for the tips.
