I’m not being sarcastic, but if everything works ignore it.

It's for Fog Lights. It's the pig tail that plugs into the rest of the harness that you do not have because the car came [without] fog lights and the rest of the harness.

You're not being sarcastic, just practical ,but some of us (like me) are weird and need to know what everything does, ha ha, i think its the unused plug for the electric fan on a 4 cyl like others have mentioned, maybe in 90-93 they decided to do away with it cause my 91 definitely doesn't have it.

4 cylinder cars have a different headlight harness than the V8 cars. The alternator wiring runs through it and the plugs are different as well as the alts are on opposite sides.

The 4 cylinder cars do have an electric fan connection in that harness as well.

Maybe it’s an HVAC plug????
I noticed this pigtail on eBay. It’s Ford specific and resembles your plug by design, wiring, and internal contacts.
Just a thought….

Thats what i found online too but it just didnt make sense. Why would that be tied in with the headlights? Well for now ill leave it unplugged. Thanks!

I just needed to reassure myself. I think @Mcmahst and @91AOD5.0LX are on the right track. Was this originally a 4cy? Im thinkin so.

It very well could have been. Its sort of a Frankenstein right now, lots of unknown parts. Ill check the vin and see if it truly was a v8 car. Just ran the VIN, this was a 2.3 car.

Oh i'm gonna find out what it does, lol, im a houndog when it comes to stuff like this, in other words i can't let it rest, i wanna know what that plug does!!! , there is a guy I'm acquainted with but i haven't been able to track him down and he knows about everything on these cars, stuff like "yeah in 89 they used a 3/8 s bolt on such a part but in 90 they went to 7 1/6s and so forth", that kind of guy, he'll know.

Interesting about the car being a previous 4 banger that just contributes to the mystery,i saw a video awhile back about a 93 Cobra and a lot of stuff i didn't know like how the intakes had that extra little piece of metal for harmonics or something like that??

Finding out it was a 4 cyl has sent me down the rabbit hole searching for differences. I think its mostly the rear end (7.5 vs 8.8). I plan on changing out most of the suspension so im not too concerned with that. Ive also read the 7.5 can handle some HP but not too much.
