We're going to be putting a Viper T56 into our 96 Cobra this summer. I have been planning to swap out the AOD in our 93 vert for a manual transmission. There's nothing wrong with the T45 in the Cobra. Will it fit in the 93? Will I need a different bellhousing? Anybody done this?

Thanks.

i dont think you need a new bell housing. from what i understand is that a t 45 is the same as a t-5 just do the same as if it was a t-5 swap. someone correct me if im wrong

you're wrong .

the swap can be done but it's not common as the t45 is a POS. IMHO you'd be better off finding a t5 for the swap. also, IIRC the t45 has an integral bellhousing so you actually need an adapter plate or something. if you do a search it's been discussed before.

The t45 is a slightly beefed up T-5...I say go with a GForce T5

i don't have any facts to back it up but, it's been told to me that the t45 isn't any stronger than the t5. couple that with the added cost to mate it to a 302 and you might as well sell the t45 for a t5 or better. JMHO.
