Im about to change my shocks/struts and was wondering if the quad shocks also need to be replaced or if I can just remove them? Also what is the job of the quad shocks?

If you have stock control arms keep them hell if you have aftermarket ones you can still keep them they will keep wheel hop down and slightly improve the shock rebound. You can get them new for I think 25$ each or cheaper.

They are only there to help reduce wheel hop. If you have a good set of lower control arms (which I didn't notice in your sig) then you can toss them as the CA's do a good enough job by themselves. I still have mine on just because I forgot to trash them when I did my control arms. Plus if you remove them that's 4 lbs. weight reduction!

is there any special jacking instructions when removing the quad shocks? Eg. Certain place to lift or anything important to know when removing them?

I would leave them alone unless you have clearance issues with your tires. If you do remove them, you will need aftermarket upper and lower control arms.

I wouldn't bother replacing them either, unless you get some real cheap. I changed mine and didn't notice any difference at all.
