Can I start my car like this?

Can I start my car with this line not connected to anything or plugged with anything? I removed the smog bar that runs behind the heads and this is what feeds that bar with air. Any ideas?

did u plug the heads heads where the smog line was? u removed that, but are still running the smog pump? not really sure whats going on here..... also, what year is your car? 4eye? the pic doesn't look like my setup, and i took all my smog stuff off....
anyways, cap your heads, and i'd bypass (and/or remove the rest of your smog stuff too since its non-functional anyways. u have emission testing there?

The reason for removing the smog bar was because after getting my heads milled it didn't fit properly. The holes on the back of the heads have been plugged for the time being. I need to start my car and drive it to the body shop and was wondering if it was possible to do like this?

The car is a '91 fox.

u should be fine to drive it there. do u have cats? but i'm confused! i have a 91, and it's not like your pic...???? hmmm

You'll be fine. From what I hear if you have cats it's not good for the cats over a long period of time. If not, then you're all set. I drove mine around for a little while just like you have it. Once the car warms up it will make a funny noise from the smog pump pumping into the engine compartment, so I just got a short belt.

It won't matter unless you run it like that for a really long time w/ cats, as far as vacuum is concerned or engine performance it's fine.

the guy before me did that same thing and plugged it with a spark plug..i have since removed everything emmisions related
