My neighbor is selling a broken edel intake. One of the upper intake bolt holes broke so on one side there is only one bolt holding the upper to the lower instead of two. It's a clean break and it looks like I could jb the middle of were it broke then weld it on there from the outside. He said I could have it for $100. I'm not two worried because I'm running NA and I could use some rtv there if it leaked.

Man, only 2 bolts hold down the upper? At a 50% loss of clamping pressure on the intake, I would think that would pose a problem if you can't weld it back. I guess its a matter of whether the you can afford to lose a 100.00 on the deal. I would offer him 50 bucks maybe. Have you ever heard of alumalloy? The commercial I saw had them fixing an aluminum intake with a similar broken part.

call up some welding shops and see if they can weld it back on or make a piece for you to connect a bolt. like blk92stangg said if you cant get that bolt down the intakes useless you will have a big vacume leak and it will make your car run like crap ask the guy to barrow it and try to see if it can be fixed if not dont buy it. if he wont let you barrow it take some pics and see if the shop can do it also post on here someone will tell you if its fixable or not im shure.

My intake has the rear right upper bolt stripped, I haven't had it helicoiled yet. No leaks. Tig weld an ear on it and drill it out. Easy fix. Well worth $100.
