I bought a 2001 gt and I was thinking of changing gears to 3:73's It has an automatic transmission. Can I use the speedcal on an '01?

If it's a model specified for an '01, sure. What made you think you couldn't?

Sorry, you're right. I forgot that the speedcal are only set up to work with up to '98 Automatics. Looks like you're going to have to settle with changing the speedo gear, or spring for a hand held programmer.

I was afraid of that. The speedcal worked great on my 98 5-speed

Thanks

When I had my 4.10s put in the shop flashed a speedcal onto the computer with their software. I have an 02 GT.

By "Speedcal", he's referring to a particular piece of hardware itself, not a "speedometer calibration" flashed onto his computer like you're suggesting.....although that would likely be his best bet.

This is what it looks like…..

Get 4.10s unless a blower is coming soon. A speedo gear would be a bad choice for the auto anyway. The shift pattern/points would be all screwed up without a chip/tuner.

Yes but your speedometer and odometer are going to read about 25% higher than what they should, assuming you have stock 3.27 gears now.
