Hey guys, just got a 2005 mustang gt premium. 51000 miles on the odo, and I love it.

I was wondering if there was any way I could wire a tuning chip to my touchscreen stereo for on the fly tuning while driving?

If so, any recommendations for Tunes? I don't have one yet.

Thanks guys!

Thanks guys, appreciate the insight. Are there any tunes that are on the fly?

The kind of tunes you are talking about I think, is located within the first few items of this page:
https://lmr.com/Product/Search?q=tuner&vehicle=2005-09-Mustang

American Muscle, Ford Motor Sports, and a bunch of others have them as well. There are few different manufacturers too like Diablo, Steeda, Bama, and others.

If you've never dealt with a tuner before, here's a blurp on American Muscle's site that gives an overview:

The only tuners I've seen that let you change things while driving have been for diesels.

...and there's no reason in the world to need to do this. Generally, the tune that provides the best fuel economy also provides either the best or 2nd best setup for power production.

The common denominator here is emissions. Factory tunes balance emissions and performance. After-market tunes typically leave emissions considerations on the table short of intentionally harming OEM equipment such as catalytic converters. This is why you see varying tunes for car with and without catalytic converters.

Additionally: Switching tunes on the fly is very unimpressive when the result is 15ish HP (depending on fuel). It's not like ascending to Super Saiyan or anything.
