I have my car sitting in my yard and I am really starting to miss driving it. I want to do some things to it but I would like to figure out a price range. I want to find a TC motor and put it in, leaving the stock tranny and rearend. I need to replace the windsheild, put in new weather stripping, get new doors and fenders, and do very minor interior fix up jobs. Then I would do some body work then have it painted by a friend. I was just wondering if this can be done for $2500 or less in canadian dollars. (thats around $1900 US)

Anything can be done yes but, in what you are asking you will have to find real good deals on almost everything that you are asking for.

It can be done. You just gotta get up and do it. Even if $2500 doesn't cut it, then you'll atleast be really close to finishing. Go for it.

I picked up my TC motor from pull apart for 120 (long block). I picked up my intake maifold with injectors fuel rail and turbo with exhaust maifold on ebay for only $56. I found a T5 at pull and save for $50. I lucked out and the engine just needed to be honed and overhauled. You can get that going for that price range just need to find deals and get out and look. With a little effort and a lot of patience anything can be done. I also pulled the front and rear sway bars from the TC as well. It really made a huge difference in the handling of the car. I wanted the rear end with LSD but somebody beat me to it.
