Again my brother in laws 65 mustang 289 engine I need a pic of someones
timing post that is used with the timing light..after cleaning the balancer
he can now see the hash marks but dont know what the timing tit looks like

If the cover has it, it's located at about the 1 or 2 o'clock position above the balancer. I saw a pic posted somewhere the other day that showed one with a bolt on pointer too. The upper screw holding it was located about where the tit used to be. If yours has a hole there, you're missing the pointer.

Here is a pic of the timing pointer on my 65. I put a new balancer on when I swapped out the cam and put on some timing tape from Summit. I rubbed some sidewalk chalk on the timing tit.



Not sure about a HiPo 289, mine is an original 2V C-Code 289 with the timing pointer cast in the timing chain cover.
