I found this formula to calculate needed injector size on FTI's website, and I know what everything is except for "Brake Specific Fuel Consumption". Can somebody explain that one to me? Thanks
-Chris

IHP / NIJ X BSFC / IDC

IHP = Ideal Horsepower

NIJ = Number of Ijectors Used

IDC = Injector Duty Cycle

BSFC = Brake Specific Fuel Consumption

Example:

300 HP / 8 cylinders = 37.5

37.5 X .50 BSFC = 18.75

18.75 / .80 Duty Cycle = 23.43 lb/hr injector (24 lb/hr is the closest)

For NA use .5
For SC use .6

For a definition...I bet you can get it here
http://www.google.com/

Don't forget the 300 value your using in the formula is only 255rwhp
If you wanna think in terms of 300rwhp......
you need to use the value of about 355 in the formula

Grady, I knew you'd be the one to answer my question. I didn't know that was flywheel HP either, guess that makes sense. Thanks!

You are not alone (though in my case it is because no one has a Hissin decoder ring. ). I will post something, people keep asking about what I posted (as if my reply does not exist), and then some moron will post what I said, and everyone thanks that person. Oh well, all I care about is that people get their cars fixed.

Well I see your replies and learn a good bit from them

Since I have your attention, maybe you could answer a Q or two

Should I put a Fox pcm in my car?

Which gears...355's or 373's?

Should I build a 331 or 347?

Why does my 95GT ping?

That's true, although I've learned to look (or not look I guess) for that, and usually it's JT. Which reminds me, JT, do you have any pics of your car?

Wow, thanks for the kind words guys. Touche Mr Grady (about learning from one another).

Patrick, you and Daggar constantly bug me about the avatar thing and I did not get around to doing one. I will I don't do a sig because it would be long. Then you guys would get sick of seeing my posts because of the long scrolling.

Lately on the 5.0 side, it has been 'which pumpkin fluid should I run'. Somehow we make multi-page threads out of those.

Chris, I will send some pics. I forgot. Just dont tell people what a POS I drive.

Whoa Whoa Chris, do you work for the Government? How did you get my snapshot? I will add that I was having a bad hair day then, so dont hold it against my otherwise rugged good looks.

Grady, Ill take your avatar and you can have the poor guy with progeria.

Grady, how does 140 BHP sound? I think that would get me the respect I deserve.

You guys really crack me up.
