Can someone help a new Mustang owner in Edmonton?

Hi, I just joined this group because i finally bought my favorite car...a Mustang Baby!!! Its a 2005, black and I love it. Couldnt quite afford the GT but mine is just fine for now. Im new to the province (another displaced Newfoundlander) just been here a month and wanna do some small upgrades and get some aftermarket parts. I dont want to go to hell with it, but a few small things would be nice. Does anyone know of any reputable places I can go in the Edmonton area? Id appreciate any help.

Welcome and congrats on your dream car Bretty Although it's not a GT, it is still a Mustang and if not for people like you, the GT probably would not be around today. Have you wandered over to the '05+ V6 forums? It is fairly customary to post pics of your ride on here We love pics

Congratulations on the new ride. The V6 technical section is a good source of information.

Be proud of your Stang. I had a 2005 V6 - loved it. The only reason I parted with him was some life circumstances. The 4.0L has huge potential over the previous platform's 3.8L. lol

Trust me, order your stuff from the states online. In MOST cases it's cheaper, even when our dollar wasn't so great. Places in your area will most likely mark up the prices because first they have to purchase the stuff from the states, and then sell it to you. Eliminate the middle man. Shop around on the net at reputable places and you'll do fine.

I agree with the dollar being about 1.05 american today I would order online from the States.

Congrats on the purchase. And if you're looking for mods, sit down and think them over carefully. You stated that you "Couldnt quite afford the GT but mine is just fine for now."

....is this to say you're planning on getting one in the future? If so, I'd stick to cosmetic, removable mods for now (wheels, tires, custom grill, interor mods, etc). That way, when you do decide to upgrade, all of the parts are read to be swapped over to your GT and will save you from having to do them over again.

If it's a keeper, i'd save my money for the the real "hard hitting" performance stuff. Throttle bodies, under drive pulleys and exhaust upgrades are fine, but you're not going to see any real power gains from them. Suck it up and save for one of the more popular blowers being sold for the 4.0L now. (Paxton, Vortech, ExporerExpress). They may be costly now, but you could spend nearly that much on what I consider "light weight" bolt ons and still never come close to the power gains offered by forced induction.
