Can someone tell me what this means..!???

I tried to order stock gears , and it says on the site.

1- RING and PINION, Mustang, 3.27 Ratio - W/INDEPENDENT SUSP
2-RING and PINION, 8.8" Axle, 3.27 Ratio - W/O INDEPENDENT SUSP

now what the hell does it mean when they say Independant SUSP or w/o independant Susp??

In reference to the 99+ Cobra suspension. They have an independent rear suspension (IRS) as opposed to a solid rear axle.

You have a solid rear end, live-axle, non-IRS..


I didnt think the gears were different for IRS though, thats odd.

I HAVE stock gears (they are 3.27) from my 98 GT. I'll give em to ya for $50 + ship if you want, they have about 50k miles on them.

Correct. You have a "Live Axle"

So if you have 3.73 gears why do you want to go back to 3.27?

How long have you had those 3.73 gears on? Why don't you want them?

LOL no you guys are getting this wrong. I dont wanna go back to stock . I love my 3.73 i've had them on 4 one day now lol
i was just asking , because i was trying to compare prices thats all so i needed to know which part it was exactly. thx anyways
